As the the specific role of governors, Ofsted say that as governors and trustees, you are responsible for making sure that safeguarding procedures are properly followed in your institution. But that doesn’t mean you have to go through your institution’s central record yourself. You need to make sure the overarching culture is right. What is your institution doing to identify learners that may be at risk of harm? How is your institution helping those children and fulfilling its duties?
